XML Sitemap Generator

A sitemap lists the pages you want search engines to find. Paste one address per line and the tool builds a valid sitemap.xml, removing duplicates and escaping special characters. The addresses stay in your browser. It builds the file from the list you give it; it does not crawl your site.

Generate an XML sitemap

One address per line. Lines starting with / are completed using the website address below.

Applied to every page. Only set it if it is true for all of them.

0.0 to 1.0.

Add your page addresses to build the sitemap.

  • Problem: Add at least one URL, one per line.

How to use it

  1. List your pages

Paste full addresses, one per line. Lines that start with / are completed from the website address you enter.

  2. Add optional details

You can set one last modified date, a change frequency or a priority for all pages. Google ignores change frequency and priority, so leaving them out is fine.

  3. Download and submit

Download sitemap.xml, upload it to your site, then add it to robots.txt or submit it in Google Search Console.

Example: a five-page site

Enter https://example.com as the website address and list /, /about, /services, /contact and /blog. The tool completes each path and produces a sitemap with five url entries.

Sitemap limits

The sitemaps.org protocol sets these limits for a single file.

Limits for one sitemap file
LimitValue
URLs per file50,000
File size, uncompressed50 MB
Length of one URL2,048 characters
Allowed addressesOnly those on the site that hosts the sitemap

Limits and limitations

  • The tool does not crawl your site or check that each page exists, loads or is allowed to be indexed. Only list addresses you want in search results.
  • One file holds up to 50,000 addresses. Larger sites need several sitemaps listed in a sitemap index, which this tool does not create.
  • The last modified date you enter is applied to every page. Only use it if that is true, because a wrong date can make search engines trust the field less.
  • Image, video and news sitemap extensions are not included.

Frequently asked questions

Are my addresses uploaded?

No. Your list of addresses is processed by JavaScript running in your browser and is not sent to a server. The page itself still loads from a web server like any website. This site can load advertising or analytics scripts, but only after you accept them in the cookie notice. They are separate from the tools, which never pass the files or text you work with to them.

Do I need a sitemap?

Small sites with good internal links are usually found without one, but a sitemap helps search engines discover new or deep pages faster and is easy to maintain.

How do I tell Google about my sitemap?

Submit its address in Google Search Console, or add a Sitemap line with the full address to your robots.txt file.

Should I include pages blocked in robots.txt or marked noindex?

No. A sitemap should list only the canonical, indexable addresses you want to appear in search.
