Merge PDF files
Drag and drop PDF files here
or
PDF files up to 100 MB each, up to 50 files. Your files stay in this browser.
How to use it
Add your PDFs
Choose files or drop them onto the box. Each file shows its page count, and a file that cannot be read is reported with the reason.
Set the order
Use the up and down buttons to move files. The merged PDF follows the list from top to bottom. Remove any file you added by mistake.
Merge and download
Select Merge, check the total number of pages, and download merged.pdf. Your original files are not changed.
Example: one application pack
Add cover-letter.pdf, then resume.pdf, then certificates.pdf. The result has the pages of the cover letter first, then the resume, then the certificates, in one file small enough to attach to a single email.
Limits and limitations
- Each file can be up to 100 MB and up to 50 files can be merged at once. Very large files can fail if the browser runs out of memory.
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened. Remove the password in the program that made the file first.
- Pages are copied as they are. Bookmarks, form fields, links between documents and other interactive parts may not carry over, and the merged file does not get a new table of contents.
- The merged file is not compressed, so its size is roughly the sum of the files you added.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. Your files is processed by JavaScript running in your browser and is not sent to a server. The page itself still loads from a web server like any website. This site can load advertising or analytics scripts, but only after you accept them in the cookie notice. They are separate from the tools, which never pass the files or text you work with to them.
Can I change the order after adding files?
Yes. Use the up and down buttons beside each file, or remove a file and add it again.
Will the pages keep their size and quality?
Yes. Pages are copied without being redrawn, so text stays sharp and each page keeps its own size, even if the files use different page sizes.
Why did my file get rejected?
The tool shows the reason beside the file name. The usual causes are a password-protected file, a damaged file, or a file that is not really a PDF.
